Centre Manager - Weymouth

We work hard to create positive learning experiences that spark a love of learning and give our children a great start for life. We believe in nurturing them today for their tomorrow.

We seek dedicated people who can join this vision because our tamariki deserve high quality early childhood care and education. We wholeheartedly get behind our staff on their learning journeys, from support staff, unqualified to provisional to qualified to centre managers.

Early Discoveries is a charitable trust

Early Discoveries is a Charitable Trust. We are governed by a board of trustees that our Director and Operations Manager report to monthly. This means that we are not about making a profit so that an individual or individuals can benefit financially from the business. All of our profits go back into our centres to ensure they run smoothly from staffing and being well resourced and buildings maintained.

We have strong teams and a supportive learning environment

Our teams are close-knit, supportive and have fun. We have regular team-building times. Our hugely diverse team is united by our common purpose – that’s what makes our work environment really special. We love to work together with our whānau and community. We believe it takes a community to raise a child. This is our Wairua. (Spirit)

We proudly support our staff on their professional learning journeys growing and developing each person’s contribution towards achieving our aspirations for children. We take great pride in this commitment to develop our people based on current best practice principles.

  • We undertake a range of internal PD’s during the year as well as seeking outside programmes to support each individual teacher’s goals.

  • We contribute annually to renewing teacher registrations

  • We pay for each qualified teacher to have their current first aid certificate.

We strive to provide consistently high-quality education

We achieve this by investing in our people, developing our structure, innovation, reflection and continuously improving the educational outcomes and experiences of our children, whānau and communities we serve.

We encourage our centres to build their own identities to ensure they are always highly relevant and engaged with their own community’s culture while staying true to our group philosophy.

Strong Support Structure

We only have three centres within the Manurewa/Weymouth area. This means our Director and Operations Manager can support each centre when and where they need it.

They are there to care for and support centres to meet the learning needs of all tamarki, staff and each community.

We do not have a large management structure that sits above the director therefore if any staff member has a question they which to ask the Director or Operations Manager they can straight away.

As a staff member, you can see these leaders at your centre very often and they are always approachable.
